IBM Announces New Columbia Location
On Monday, May 17, 2010, REDI hosted a special ceremony where Governor Jay Nixon announced that IBM will be opening an office in Columbia in the fall of 2010. The announcement represents the single most significant impact in private sector jobs for Mid-Missouri in the history of Columbia.
IBM will renovate an existing building at 2810 Lemone Industrial Boulevard for their Columbia office, which will be a new technology service delivery center that will employ as many as 800 technical professionals by 2012 with average annual wages of $55,000. Hiring will begin this summer and the facility will be up and running with 100 employees by November.
