For 44 years, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors have acted as the Goodwill Arm of the Chamber. Often referred to as the “gold coats” because of the golden blazers they wear, the Ambassadors consist of over 100 business leaders and representatives who perform an important function by welcoming new Chamber members and helping current members celebrate milestones at their businesses.
A core function of the division is to perform ribbon cuttings, groundbreakings, and First Dollar of Profit plaque presentations. The Ambassadors perform approximately 200+ ribbon cuttings per year for Chamber member businesses. Whether it’s opening a new office or promoting a new product, these ceremonial events are available to all Columbia Chamber of Commerce members to celebrate big and small accomplishments in their businesses.
The Ambassadors also assist at key Chamber events such as the Quarterly Membership Breakfasts and Small Business Week. During Chamber events and programs, the Ambassadors act as a guide for new businesses and the business community’s biggest advocate.
