What is Leadership Columbia?

Leadership Columbia is an annual 6-month program of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce that identifies, cultivates, and motivates future community leaders. This informative and thought-provoking program introduces participants to the opportunities and challenges in our community and educates them about the Chamber’s strategic initiatives.

Class members are required to fully participate in the 13 program activities, including an orientation, retreat, regular sessions, and graduation day. Regular sessions involve a combination of panel discussions, tours, hands-on experiences, one-on-one interactions with current community leaders, and leadership building group activities designed to expose participants to the industry area covered in each session.

Application and Selection Process

Applications for the 2023 Leadership Columbia class have now closed. Keep an eye out for next year’s application in September 2023!

Each application is reviewed by a Steering Committee which looks at individual qualifications and a broad spectrum of experience. The Steering Committee strives to select a diverse representation of all segments of our community.

Applicants will be notified of the status of their acceptance in mid-October. Upon selection, applicants will be invoiced for program tuition of $900, which can be paid by credit card or check. Any class member who has not paid their tuition in full by December 16 will forfeit their place in the class.
