Compass Health Network is excited to announce the new location of our Pediatric Dental Clinic! While we anxiously await the completion of our Comprehensive Children’s Center, set to be completed in the Spring of 2023, our Pediatric Dental Clinic will be located at 303 N. Keene Suite 202 in Columbia, MO!

Our Pediatric Dental Clinic offers the latest and most innovative dental treatments in a child-friendly space, providing oral health care from infancy through adolescence. Our professionals have an additional two to three years of training and education, including behavioral management and child psychology to help with all aspects of a child’s dental health care. We provide new patient exams, preventive care, SDF, Oral sedation, emergency dental care, and dental rehabilitation under general anesthesia. We accept most major commercial dental insurances, Medicaid, and offer a sliding scale for those without coverage.

Our Pediatric Dental team is led by two Board Certified Pediatric Dentists, Dr. Sujatha Sivaraman, and Dr. Kristal Raya. Dr. Sivaraman has been a familiar face at Compass Health and has been with us since she started at Family Health Center in 2012. When she started, there were only two dental chairs in the clinic, and now, at our new clinic we have 21 chairs! Dr. Raya joined the team in 2020 after graduating from NYU Langone Hospital earlier that year. In her second year of residency Dr. Raya was selected as Chief Resident! Both Dr. Raya and Dr. Sivaraman are passionate about disease prevention and access to care in underserved communities, which are reasons they both chose to specialize in pediatric dentistry.

Compass Health will be hosting an Open House for our Pediatric Clinic and General Dentistry Clinic (located across the hall from the pediatric clinic) on Tuesday, June 21, from 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM. Please stop by for a tour of our kid-approved, colorful new space and an opportunity to meet your local dentists!

Columbia Farmers Market is encouraging supporters to cast their vote in the 14th annual America’s Farmers Market Celebration, presented by American Farmland Trust and Farmers Market Coalition. Between June 20 – September 19, 2022, visit markets.farmland.org, find your favorite market, and vote to put it in the running for national recognition and cash prizes. Columbia Farmers Market received the most votes and was awarded the #1 “People’s Choice Farmers Market” in the Nation, the Midwest, and Missouri in 2021.

In 2022, the Celebration will award a record $10,000 in total cash awards to the top five markets in America– $5,000 for first, $2,500 for the second, $1,500 for third, $750 for fourth, and $250 for fifth. These funds will be awarded to markets for marketing, communications, and other needs that help expand the market’s reach and impact.

American Farmland Trust, a national nonprofit dedicated to saving farmland, promoting sound farming practices, and keeping farmers on the land, has run the Celebration for 14 consecutive years, elevating the increasingly essential role farmers markets play in providing communities with access to fresh, locally grown food and connecting farmers directly with their customers. In 2021, the Farmers Market Coalition joined the Celebration as a new partner and co-sponsor of the event.

“In many regions, especially during these unprecedented times, farmers markets have been vital to keeping existing farms in business and enabling new farms to get started,” said John Piotti, American Farmland Trust President and CEO. “At AFT, we believe that every farmers market in America is special in its own way, helping to connect farmers to customers, and customers to local, healthy food.”

“Columbia Farmers Market has accomplished astounding growth and successes over the past ten years, and as a result, mid-Missouri put the market on the national map in 2021, by voting us as the #1 farmers market in the nation, midwest, and Missouri. We’d be honored if our community awarded us this recognition two years in a row,”  said Corrina Smith, Columbia Farmers Market’s Executive Director. “The market and the Agriculture Park have become a blueprint for markets across the country, and we’re privileged to play a small role in raising awareness of all of the achievements farmers markets are doing across the country.”

To learn more and participate, visit markets.farmland.org today. The Celebration will run during the summer season and end promptly at 5 p.m. ET on Sept. 19, 2022.
