The Columbia Chamber of Commerce celebrated the successes of the 2022-2023 program year and thanked our dedicated Chamber volunteers for all their support with the 118th Annual Membership Dinner & Awards Banquet on Thursday, June 29th at The Atrium on Tenth.
During the event we recognized the outgoing board chair, Michele Batye, Owner and President of Dave Griggs Flooring America on a fantastic year and thanked her for all the hard work she has put in to make Columbia and Boone County a better place. We also gave thanks to members of the Chamber Board of Directors and this year’s committee chairs. In addition, the Columbia Chamber of Commerce announced the recipients of the Debin Benish Outstanding Businesswoman Award Adonica Coleman, A2D Events & The COMO 411, the Ambassador of the Year Award Tim Knarr, The 20 MSP, the Emerging Professional of the Year Award Kelsey Lyman, Convergence Companies, the Outstanding Citizen of the Year Award Lindsay Young Lopez, The Food Bank for Central & Northeast Missouri and the Columbia Chamber Legacy Award Don Laird, Retired President/CEO of the Columbia Chamber of Commerce. Congratulations to all the deserving recipients!
Furthermore, we started our next chapter with comments from our new leadership, Eric Morrison, President of Sundvold Financial and 2023-2024 incoming Chair of the Board of Directors. Eric briefed us on his goals to increase membership to 1100 members to gain “new faces” and involvement within our community. He also addressed the unsheltered population with the hopes that the Chamber’s 10th Annual Leadership Visit to Madison, Wisconsin will help give our community leaders ideas and insight on the best route to take. We look forward to another amazing year of programs for 2023-2024.
