  • The Boone County Clerk’s Office is in the process of replacing the county’s voting equipment, which was purchased in 2006. In March, the office put out a request for proposals, which included an invitation for voting equipment vendors to participate in a public demonstration so that voters have an opportunity to view and experience the equipment. All three voting equipment vendors that responded to the request for proposals will display their voting equipment on May 2, 2019 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Activity & Recreation Center, 1701 W. Ash St., Columbia, MO.

Awards, Promotions and New Hires

  • Moberly Area Community College is proud to announce the receipents of the Breaking Traditions Awards which are an annual recognition of outstanding nontraditional career education students and the educators and employers who support them. Joshua Scott won the Post-Secondary Male Breaking Tradition Spirit Award; Nichola Eravi and Destiny Herndon won the Post-Secondary Breaking Traditions Regional Award winners.
  • Central Bank of Boone County (CBBC) announces three employee promotions made in March. Brianne Blythe of the Smiley Lane Bank and Amanda Baker of the Keene Financial Center have been promoted to financial associates. Amber Letbetter has been promoted to teller II. Employees are hired as a teller I then, once they’ve completed their training and have had six months of successful experience, they are promoted to a teller II.
  • The Networks of Mid-Missouri, home to ABC 17 News, announced that Jessica Quick will take over as the station’s Chief Meteorologist. Quick joins the team after the departure of longtime chief Sharon Ray.
